Navi Mumbai International Airport, located in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, represents a significant expansion of India’s civil aviation infrastructure.
Designed as a major aviation gateway alongside the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai, NMIA will help avoiding congestion at one of India’s busiest aviation markets.
The airport is developed under a public-private partnership led by Adani Airport Holdings and the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) through Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL).
It features a modern terminal and runway capable of handling 20 million passengers annually in its first phase, with expansion plans to scale capacity significantly in future phases.
The facility has been assigned the IATA airport code “NMI” and ICAO code “VANM”.
