Amid Bangladesh Political Turmoil, India on Wednesday called in Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, Riaz Hamidullah, to convey its “grave concern” over a series of incidents targeting Indian nationals and diplomatic missions.

Official sources said the concerns were formally raised with the Bangladeshi envoy as New Delhi flagged the safety and security of Indians and Indian establishments in Bangladesh.

This marks the second time High Commissioner Hamidullah has been summoned by the Indian government amid strained bilateral ties. Relations between the two countries have remained tense following violent anti-India protests reported from several parts of Bangladesh in recent weeks.
