Pollution Response Exercise organized at Odisha’s Paradip Port

Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North East) conducted a Regional Level Pollution Response Exercise at Paradip on 16–17 December 2025 with participation of multiple stakeholders and agencies.

The exercise was reviewed by Inspector General IS Chauhan, TM, Commander Coast Guard, (NE).

The exercise aimed at enhancing preparedness, coordination, and response mechanisms for marine pollution incidents. It included a paper exercise to outline roles and responsibilities, followed by a sea exercise simulating an oil spill scenario.

A sea shoreline cleanup demonstration was also conducted to showcase coordinated response measures and effective beach protection operations, reinforcing inter-agency cooperation and readiness to address pollution emergencies.
