CISF Inducted at Chhattisgarh’s Talaipalli Coal Mining Project

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) today inducted its new Unit at the NTPC Talaipalli Coal Mining Project in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. This marks the operational commencement of CISF’s 362nd Unit at one of the country’s fastest-growing captive coal mines.

Around 100 personnel deployed in the first phase out of the sanctioned strength of 265, the induction follows a calibrated deployment plan aligned with the expansion of project operations and CISF infrastructure under development at the mines.

The induction ceremony was attended by senior CISF authorities, NTPC leadership, project personnel, and local community representatives.

During the event, Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project, NTPC Talaipalli, formally handed over the Security Key of the Unit to Nilima Rani Singh, Inspector General, CISF, CS HQrs Bhilai.

The moment symbolised the official transfer of responsibility for the mine’s protection to CISF.  Daya Shankar, DIG/CZ, CISF HQrs Bhilai, Piyali Sharma, DIG/CS, CISF HQrs Bhilai, along with senior NTPC officials and distinguished guests were also present on the occasion.

The NTPC Talaipalli Coal Mining Project is a crucial link in the nation’s energy value chain. The mine supplies coal to the Lara Super Thermal Power Plant, contributing significantly to power availability across multiple states and supports India’s broader agenda of Atmanirbharta in energy.
