Goa’s Night Club Fire kills 25 due to cylinder blast

At least 25 people died and 50 others injured in a fire broke out in Goa’s Arpora in night club yesterday.

Ina statement Goa’s chief police Alok Kumar said to PTI that the blaze was due to a cylinder blast inside the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’, a night club.

“A total of 25 people died which includes 7 tourists and 14 staffs, the other injured are getting treatment”, Kumar added.

The club is 25 km away from Panaji and was started a year ago only.

Most of the victims killed are staffs of the club.

Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said in a statement, “I am closely reviewing the situation arising from the tragic fire incident at Arpora, in which 25 people have lost their lives and 6 have been injured. All six injured persons are in a stable condition and are receiving the best medical care. I have ordered a magisterial inquiry into the entire incident to identify the cause and fix responsibility.”
