Dr Habibur Rahman Laskar of Assam University and his team has achieved a significant breakthrough in the fintech sector. The United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office has granted a patent for their invention titled “Finance-Integrated Access Control Device”.

The patent was officially registered on 26 November 2025.

Dr Lakshar is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration at Assam University.

This achievement follows an earlier success, when the team received an Indian patent on 21 March 2024 for their “Equity Risk Management Device.”

The newly developed “Finance-Integrated Access Control System” combines entry-control mechanisms with integrated financial transaction features.

Through this device, authorised users will be able to carry out secure identity-linked payments, approvals and other financial tasks directly through the access system.

The device is expected to be highly beneficial in institutions and corporate environments where both security and financial operations need to be seamlessly integrated.
