Akashvani Aizawl Director and Mizoram Cluster Head, Pu DR Lalropuia, announced that Aizawl Akashvani will soon be equipped with a Visual Radio System. He made the statement during the Rimawi Kutpui – Winter Wonderland, a music festival organised by Akashvani Aizawl at the Akashvani Conference Hall, Tuikhuahtlang.
The event was held as part of preparations for this year’s Christmas season and to provide entertainment for Akashvani staff. In his address, Pu DR Lalropuia said significant efforts were under way to install the Visual Radio System, which will modernise the studio.
As the new system includes cameras and additional technical equipment, several existing machines in the studio will also require upgrading, he added.
Work towards fully operationalising the system is currently in full swing. Pu DR Lalropuia highlighted the power of music, noting that songs play an important role in influencing thoughts and shaping human perception.
He also remarked that Rimawi Kutpui carries special meaning in a world where empathy is increasingly scarce, as it offers both entertainment and a sense of understanding.
He encouraged Akashvani staff to continue promoting music with dedication. Alongside singing and dancing, the festival featured various activities.
Akashvani Aizawl currently has around 170 workers, including 50 regular staff members and 120 casual employees.
