Air Force’s (IAF) C-17 transport aircraft lands in Sri Lanka

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said that the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) C-17 transport aircraft, carrying a self-contained modular field hospital, over 70 medical and support personnel, and essential vehicles, landed in Colombo Yesterday. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar noted that India continues to support Sri Lanka’s efforts at flood relief.

Meanwhile, the Defence Ministry said that the Mi-17 helicopters of the Indian Air Force continued operations, airlifting more than 8 tonnes of relief material and evacuating 65 survivors, including foreign nationals, critically ill patients and a pregnant woman.
