The death toll in Indonesia’s Sumatra Island due to the cyclonic rain risen to 300, the disaster mitigation agency said. The devastated island saw severe landslide and flooding in the region due to the cyclone.
The affected countries are Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Nearly 279 people are missing, 80,000 being evacuated and hundreds are stranded, according to the Reuters.
As roads cut off and communication infrastructure dismantled, the only way helicopters being used to save lives and sending essentials.
The military personnels are trying their best to clear the roads blocked due to the landslide and operations will be enhanced on Sunday.
In Thailand the death toll risen from 145 to 162, according the Government spokesperson.
