ITBP DG, Praveen Kumar gets Additional Charge of BSF

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India today assigned additional charge as Director General of Border Security Force to Praveen Kumar who is serving as the DG of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

This may be a temporary assignment given due to the superannuation of the previous BSF DG, Daljit Singh Chaudhary, on November 30, 2025.

Praveen Kumar is an IPS officer from the 1993 batch of West Bengal cadre, took charge as DG, ITBP on 1 October, 2025.
