Indian men edged Korea in a thrilling final to clinch the gold medal at the Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka on Friday.
The trio of Yashdeep Bhoge, Atanu Das, and Rahul defeated Korea in a shoot-off, securing a 5-4 victory.
In the shoot-off, both teams scored 29 with two 10s and a nine, but India won courtesy of having the closest arrow to the centre.
Ankita Bhakat delivers a confident 7-3 victory over Korea’s Suhyeon Nam to clinch the Recurve Women’s Individual Gold.
In another major milestone, Dhiraj Bommadevara claims the Recurve Men’s Individual title with a composed 6-2 win over compatriot Rahul.
Dhiraj is now the first-ever Indian male archer to win this crown at the Asian Championship.
Rahul gets the silver. Overall, India topped the medals tally with 10 medals—6 gold, 2 silver and a bronze—at the ongoing edition of Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka. The Indian association prasing the performance of the players, called a remarkable effort filled with determination and pride.
