The Counting of Votes for the Assembly Elections in Bihar began this morning. The counting process started at 8 am for all 243 assembly segments at 46 counting centres across the 38 districts of Bihar. Early trends of the verdict are coming.
When last report came in NDA was leading in 150+ seats and Mahagathbandhan was leading in 70+ seats. RJD is leading in 75+ seats, BJP in 65+ seats, RJD in 50+ and Congress in 10+ seats.
The polling for Assembly Elections for 243 Constituencies was held in two phases on 6th and 11th November. In this election, Bihar recorded the highest ever polling percentage of 67.13 per cent since 1951.
The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), in which the electoral fortune of all two thousand 616 candidates has been sealed, are kept under tight security in strong rooms.
The electoral fortunes of a total of 258 female candidates will also be decided, who are contesting in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
The Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar, Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, said that the EVMs and VVPATs used in the polling have been sealed inside strong rooms under a three-layer security system. He said elaborate security arrangements are in place at all the counting centres.
DGP Vinay Kumar said that a total of 106 companies of central armed paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure the peaceful counting of votes across the different counting centres.
In addition, 100 companies of auxiliary police B-SAP, 19,000 newly recruited personnel, and district police units are also maintaining law and order.
