PM Modi to Visit Bhutan on November 11

PM Modi will participate in the Global Peace Prayer Festival

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Bhutan from the 11th of this month. During the visit, Mr. Modi and the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, will inaugurate the 1,020-megawatt Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project, which has been jointly developed by India and Bhutan.

The Prime Minister will also attend the celebrations marking the 70th birth anniversary of the Fourth King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, and meet his counterpart, Tshering Tobgay.

PM Modi will participate in the Global Peace Prayer Festival and offer prayers to the Holy Relics at Tashichhodzong in Thimphu.

The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the Prime Minister’s visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to deliberate on ways to further enhance and strengthen the bilateral partnership and exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
