Rajasthan Road Tragedy kills 15, PM announces aid

At least Fifteen people died and two were injured in a road accident in Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, on Sunday.

The deceased and injured were travelling in a tempo traveller which crashed into a parked truck on the Bharat Mala Expressway. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and a green corridor was created for their swift transfer. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the accident and announced an ex-gratia of 2 lakh Indian rupees each for the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
