Seychelles has highlighted tourism as a key pillar of its long-standing partnership with India, emphasizing its role in fostering cultural exchange and strengthening bilateral relations.

Sharin Francis, Principal Secretary for Tourism, said India is now among Seychelles’ top 10 tourism markets. She noted that improved air connectivity between the two nations has led to a significant increase in Indian visitors in 2025.

Secretary Francis added that tourism not only brings more visitors to Seychelles but also helps deepen ties between the two countries by promoting cultural understanding, trade, and people-to-people links.

She also said that while Indian tourists contribute to Seychelles’ tourism sector, the exchange enables Seychellois to explore India’s culture and strengthen connections with the Indian diaspora living in Seychelles.
