Central Govt. and Ladakh’s Representatives to Resume Talks in New Delhi Today

The Central Government and Ladakh’s representatives will resume their talks in New Delhi today. This will be the first talk after the September 24 violence in Leh. Earlier, the scheduled talks of the High Powered Committee constituted under the chairmanship of  Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai were called off due to the September 24 event.

On the invitation of the home ministry,  a delegation consisting of 10 key representatives of Ladakh, headed by former MP and Chairman of the Apex Body, Leh, Thupstan Chhewang, will represent in the meeting with the senior officials of the home ministry.

Ladakh’s delegation is likely to put forward the core demands, which include statehood and inclusion of Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule. During the previous rounds of talks, the demands of job reservation and domicile have already been resolved by the Centre.
