Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya has begun a three-day official state visit to India. It is her first visit since assuming PM office. During the visit, Prime Minister Amarasuriya will meet Indian political leaders to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest and explore new avenues for cooperation.
The visiting leader, a distinguished alumna of Hindu College, Delhi University, will also visit her alma mater. She got an India Scholarship to study Sociology in DU.
She is scheduled to attend a business event aimed at strengthening commercial linkages and promoting economic collaboration between India and Sri Lanka.
The visit reflects the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two neighbouring countries and underscores the depth of their multi-faceted relationship.
It is expected to further enhance the bonds of friendship, guided by India’s MAHASAGAR Vision and its Neighbourhood First policy.
