The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully tested an indigenously developed Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) in a combat freefall jump from an altitude of 32,000 feet.

The advanced system enhances operational capability for paratroopers and includes navigation compatibility with India’s own satellite constellation—Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC). It is designed to be resistant to external interference or denial of service by other nations.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in a post on social media platform X, congratulated the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the armed forces, and the defence industry for the achievement. He described the successful test as a “significant milestone” in strengthening India’s indigenous defence capabilities.
