The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall over parts of the northeastern states, Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala,  Konkan, Goa, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today.

The Met department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next two to three days.

Meanwhile devotees at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir, have resumed their pilgrimage after heavy rains disrupted the yatra for three consecutive days.

Officials from the Shrine Board confirmed that the pilgrimage has restarted smoothly, with pilgrims now being allowed to proceed towards the Bhawan. The yatra was earlier suspended due to heavy rains, thunderstorms, and the risk of landslides in the Trikuta Hills region.

With clear skies returning, devotees expressed joy and relief as they continued their spiritual journey, chanting “Jai Mata Di” on the way to the shrine.
