Women’s ODI World Cup : India beats Pakistan by 88 runs

Indian women cricket team beat Pakistan women by 88 runs in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in Colombo this evening. This is India’s 2nd win on a trot. Earlier they have won against the Sri Lanka.

Pak W skipper Fatima Sana won the toss and decided to bowl first. India had a decent start with both the openers played with caution. For the first wicket Pratika Rawal (31) and Smriti Mandhana put 48 runs in 9 overs before Mandhana got out to a Fatima Sana delivery.

For India Harlin Deol remained the top scorer of 46 runs with 4 fours and one towering six. Other batters palyed their parts, but nobody could able to capitalize on big sccore.

Keeper Richa Ghosh played a cameo.She scored quickfire 35 runs in just 20 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. India set target of 248 which was enough for the opposition to defeat.

For Pakistan Diana Baig got the best bowling figure with 4/69.

Pakistan tried their best to chase, but they lost wickets at regular intervals. In no time Pakistan slipped to 26/3 in 11 overs.Then it was difficult to capitalizeon the scoring rate and at the end they lost by 88 runs margin.

For India Kranti Gaud got the player of the match award for her oustanding bowling figure of 3/20 in 10 overs. Deepti Sharma also got 3/45 and Sneh Rana got 2/38.

This is India’s 12th win against Pakistan in ODIs and 5th win in the World Cups clashes.
