The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra has been temporarily suspended in view of the inclement weather conditions and the adverse weather advisory.

The Met Department has predicted widespread light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and snowfall in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir from 5th to 7th October.

The Shrine Board has thus appealed to devotees to refrain from undertaking the pilgrimage during this period and to stay updated through official channels regarding the resumption of the Yatra.

The Yatra is expected to resume on 8th October, subject to improvement in weather conditions and clearance from the authorities.

Pilgrims already present in Katra and along the Yatra route are being provided with all necessary facilities, including shelter, food, and medical assistance.

Authorities have also advised the public to avoid venturing near water bodies, rivers, and steep tracks during this period of adverse weather.
