Breaking: India beats Pakistan to win Asia Cup T20

In a thrilling final India beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in the Asia Cup T20. The undefeated Men in Blue achieved the target of 147, with 2 balls remaining.

Both the archrivals faced thrice and every time India remained the victorious.

Played in the Dubal International Cricket Stadium today India won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan started well with both openers played with caution and agression. Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) added huge 84 runs for the first wicket. Farhan scored his half century.

Once both openers were got out Pakistan lost all the wickets in a hurry. Then scoring rate also went down and Pakistan were all out for 146 runs in 19.1 overs.

For India once again the left-arm orthodox spinner Kuldeep Yadav remained peak of the bowlers. He got the excellent figure of 4/30. Now he became the top bowlers with 17 wickets from 7 matches.

All other bowlers also played their parts to restrict Pakistan within 150 courtesy Varun Chakaravarthy 2/30, Axar Patel 2/26 and Jasprit Bumrah 2/25.

Chasing in the tense final India lost 3 wickets quickly. Top Batsman in the tournament Abhishek Sharma (6) did not do much. Shubhman Gill (12) also got cheaply.

Both the opening bowlers bowled well to scalp three early wickets. Faheem Ashraf got both the openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubham Gill. Shaheen Afridi got Suryakumar Yadav. In the match Ashraf got 3/29.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav’s dismal performance continued, only able to score 1 run. In the whole tournament he scored only 71 runs in 6 matches.

Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson (24) put 57 runs for the fourth wicket before Samson got out to leg spinner Abrar Ahmed.

Once again Tilak Verma’s class and Shivam Dubey’s patience put 60 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. After the fall of Dubey, Rinku Singh came and scored a boundry to clinch the Asia Cup T20 Trophy.

Earlier All-rounder Hardik Pandya rulled out for the all important final due to injury. Left-hand batter Rinku Singh was playing in place of Pandya.
