Acharya Devvrat took oath as the Governor of Maharashtra on Monday. Maharashtra Chief Justice,  Chandrashekhar administered the oath at a grand function where Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Ekanath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra along with other dignitaries were present.

The Indian Navy also presented a Ceremonial Guard of Honour to the Governor on the occasion.

Born in Haryana’s Samalkha (Earlier East Punjab), Acharya Devvrat is a Doctor in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences. He also a post graduate in History and Hindi.

66 years old Devvrat remained as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh from 2015 to 2019. From 2019 onwards he served as the Governor of Gujarat.

During his tenure in Himachal Pradesh as the Governor he has initiated the natural farming, which many farmers adopted leaving the chemical-based farming.

He also influenced the people for cow protection and worked to improve the cow breed.

When he was the Governor of Gujarat, nearly 5,00,000 farmers left Chemical based farming to adopt the natural cultivation.

He motivated people for ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’, eradication of addiction, tree plantation, and water conservation.
