In a major breakthrough Lakshya Sen beat Tien Chen Chou in the Semi-final of the LI-NING Hong Kong Open 2025 today. Sen beat the third seed Chou of Chinese Taipei in straight sets 23-21, 22-20 to book the final.
Sen will face second Shi Feng Li in the final, who beat Christo Popov of France 21-18, 21-19.
Sen shown powerful smashes with agression, which was equally challged by his opponent. Till last moment nobody will be the winner. But Sen calmly eased the pressure wait 56 minutes to pocket the match.
After placed in the Semifinal of Olympics in 2024, which eventually Sen lost and lost the bronze medal match this is his first final in a big tournament.
Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty beat Chen Cheng Kuan and Lin Bing to advance to the final of LI-NING Hong Kong Open 2025. The duo’s 2024 Thailand Open title was their last taste of a final, and since then, the finish line always seemed just out of reach.

“Final, finally. We’ve been constantly playing semifinals and we really wanted to make the final,” Shetty said. “It’s been a while so we are extremely happy.”
