BSF Seizes Gold and Contraband at Indo-Bangladesh Border

In a significant achievement, Border Security Force (BSF), under the Guwahati Frontier busted upon two smuggling attempts and seized 364.750 grams of gold and apprehended one Indian smuggler in possession of 108 kilograms of  Ganja in two different operations at Indo-Bangladesh border.

Acting on intelligence inputs, two operations were meticulously planned and executed by troops of the 138 Battalion BSF along the Indo-Bangladesh International Border in Coochbehar district, West Bengal.

The seized gold, weighing approximately 364.750 grams, is valued around Rs 41 lakh. The seized gold has been handed over to custom department for further necessary action.

In a separate operation based on specific intelligence, alert personnel of the 138 Battalion BSF successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics across the border.

One Indian smuggler was apprehended with 108 kilograms of Ganja from India to Bangladesh.

The apprehended individual and the seized contraband have been handed over to the West Bengal police for further legal action.
