Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the Hindusthan-2025 Wedding Planners Expo at SKICC, organized by the Indian Chamber of Event Industry (ICEI). He highlighted Jammu & Kashmir’s vast potential as a premier destination for luxury weddings.
Calling the initiative “more than a tagline,” he said ‘Wed in Kashmir’ could transform the region’s natural beauty into a powerful economic engine. He emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for investment and entrepreneurship in the wedding and event planning sector.
The CM urged industry stakeholders to help bring Kashmir back into the tourism spotlight, echoing its former glory as a favorite Bollywood filming location. He also encouraged ICEI to act as brand ambassadors for J&K tourism.
The expo, attended by key political figures, hospitality leaders, and event planners, also featured the launch of ICEI’s ‘Conventions magazine’. CM Abdullah toured various stalls and engaged with participants to discuss opportunities in the destination wedding sector.
