Hours after Israeli strikes against top Hamas leaders in Qatar’s Doha, India’s Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday expressed concern over the airstrikes, urging all parties to exercise “restraint” and pursue “diplomacy” to maintain peace in the region.

The Ministry of External Affairs wrote in a statement: “We have seen reports about the Israeli strikes in Doha earlier today. We are deeply concerned by this development and its impact on the security situation in the region.”

The Ministry further stated: “We strongly urge restraint and diplomacy, so that peace and security in the region is not endangered.”
