CSIR-NEIST Ink MoU to Boost Research on Himalayan Climate Challenges

IUST and CSIR-NEIST formally exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance research collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange. The MoU was signed in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Jammu and Kashmir Raj Bhawan.

The MoU focuses on joint efforts in mountain hydrology and disaster vulnerability in the Himalayas—critical areas in light of increasing climate-related events and natural disasters.

LG Sinha congratulated both institutions on the timely initiative and highlighted its importance in advancing scientific research and delivering practical solutions to the challenges faced by the Himalayan region.

He noted that the collaboration will be instrumental in developing innovative strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change and natural disasters through science and technology.

The MoU marks a progressive step in fostering synergy between premier institutions, reinforcing their shared commitment to addressing regional and national challenges through research and innovation.
