The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has recruited its largest-ever sports professionals in the history. This recruitment aligned with the long term vision of the force with that of the country to nurture new sporting talent. CISF is setting eyes on the 2030 Commonwealth Games, as well becoming the table topper in future editions of All India Police Games.
The concluded recruitment forms part of a broader push which prioritizes early talent identification, professional training, gender inclusivity, infrastructure development, and holistic athlete support.
The aim is to nurture CISF’s sporting pipeline and increase India’s presence on global podiums including the Commonwealth Games 2030, 2036 Olympics and beyond.
In line with this more than 75% of the selected athletes are in the age group of 18-22 years, expecting to be the future-pick for CG 2030.
After the rigorous, competitive process, 332 candidates were selected.
Over 14,000 applications received, representing unprecedented interest and reach with 10,000 appearing for trials.
All selected athletes are national level medallists, 18 athletes are international level gold medallists and 56 are national level gold medallists.
The process which started in May this year saw trials conducted at 16 locations across the country including Guwahati, Chandigarh and Bhopal.
After the nationwide campaign, 332 athletes—including a record 179 women personnel have joined CISF.
The recruitment will see CISF raise 34 new teams for both men and women, including disciplines such as archery, lawn tennis, badminton, cycling, and more.
Selected athletes come from 23 states and 6 union territories, including the Andaman and Nicobar islands.
