Third Quake Strikes in Afghanistan with 6.2 magnitude

Nearly 84,000 people affected and thousands displaced in the Sunday quake

An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude struck South-east region of Afghanistan on Thursday, the German Research for Geoscience said. Since Sunday this is third quake in the same region with the depth being 10 km.

A spokesperson from the Nangarhar province confirmed that the tremor struch in Shiwa district, at the Pakistan border. The casualties are still awaited.

The confirmed death of the Sunday tremor was 2,200 and 3,600 injured. Homeless Survivors are without shelters with crisis of food, water and medication.

More 84,000 people affected and thousands displaced after the Sunday quake, according to the aid agency.

On Thursday Rescue workers pulled the bodies which were still under the rubble. Search operation is still continuing in the eastern mountain areas.
