BSF extends medical help in the flood affected areas of Jammu and Punjab

Amid the devastating floods in Jammu and Punjab, Border Security Force (BSF) organized medical camps in the region. As people in the flood affected areas having lack of medical aid, BSF extended the healthcare service after getting the direction of Home Minister.

BSF paramedic teams along with troops were deployed in following areas of Jammu and Punjab, which are badly affected by the floods, to provide necessary medical assistance and also organised awareness programme about water borne and other diseases.

BSF doctors conducted comprehensive medical check-ups and distributed medicines to nearly 2000 residents, who were suffering from flood-induced health challenges. These medical camps will continue to be organized till the situation improves.

More than 1018 villages in Punjab are badly affected by the flood and nearly 3 lakh acres crops are damaged. It is the worst flood scenario in four decades in Punjab.

A Central Team led by Col. Kirti Pratap Singh , Joint Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority comprising of  different ministries will visit the flood affected areas. The team in four days will assess the damages and submit a detailed report for rehabilitation for the affected families.
