Punjab Flood: PM Assures CM Bhagwat Mann for Full Support

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday spoke with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and discussed the situation arising due to rain and flooding in Punjab.

According to government sources, immediately after landing in Delhi from China, Modi called up the Punjab Chief Minister and assured all help and support to the state.

Nearly 1,008 villages of Punjab are facing severe flood due to heavy rain this season. All rivers are flowing near to the danger mark. Some 2.5 lakhs people are affected by the flood.

According to the state administration most affected regions are Chandigarh, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Ferozpur.

Torrential rain in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir is making worse flood situation in Punjab.
