Dhaka to Host BSF-BGB DG Level Conference for Improved Coordination

The 56th Director General Level Border Co-ordination Conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be organized at Dhaka, Bangladesh from 25-28 August 2025.

During the conference, the BSF delegation of India, led by Daljit Singh Chawdhary, Director General, BSF, will meet the BGB delegation headed by Maj General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, Director General, BGB.

The conference is being organized to discuss the border-related issues and for better coordination between the Border Guarding Forces of both countries.

During the course of conference, discussions will be held on prevention against attack/assault on BSF personnel and Indian civilians by Bangladesh based Miscreants/ Nationals, how to prevent trans-border crimes, construction of single row fence, action against Indian Insurgent Groups (IIGs) in Bangladesh, issues related to border infrastructure, joint efforts for effective implementation of Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP), Confidence Building Measures (CBM)and other issues.

An Indian delegation under leadership of Ashwani Kumar, former Director General of BSF and the Bangladesh delegation under the leadership of Major General Quazi Golam Dastgir, former Director General BDR (now BGB) met at Kolkata on 02 December 1975 for the first time to discuss mutual border problems.

The last BSF-BGB Border Co-ordination Conference was held from 17-20 Feb 2025 at New Delhi.
