BSF seizes 50 Kg suspected Methamphetamine worth ₹75 crore in Mizoram

Acting upon specific intelligence developed by the Border Security Force (BSF), a special joint operation was meticulously launched on 21 August by the BSF, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Aizawl, and the Excise & Narcotics Department, Mizoram.
The joint operation team apprehended eight individuals intercepting four suspected vehicles on the Aizawl–Champhai National Highway (NH-6), between Keifang and Seling villages, approximately 60 km from Aizawl.

During the search, three plastic bags containing fifty packets, each weighing about one kilogram, filled with approximately  10,000 pinkish tablets suspected to be Methamphetamine (Yaba) were recovered.

The total weight Yaba was approximately 50 kilograms, amounting to 5,00,000 tablets. In addition, three soap cases containing 36 grams of Heroin were also recovered. The combined value of the seized narcotics is assessed at over ₹75 Crore in the illicit market.
