Russia claimed that Ukraine is “not interested” in reaching a long-term peace agreement, accusing Kyiv of making demands incompatible with Moscow’s position.

On Thursday in a press statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Ukrainian leaders and officials are portraying the current situation in ways that indicate an unwillingness to pursue a sustainable and fair resolution.

“The Ukrainian regime and its representatives comment on the current situation in a very specific way, directly showing that they are not interested in a sustainable, fair, long-term settlement,” Lavrov said.

The statement comes amid ongoing tensions and diplomatic deadlock between the two countries, with both sides continuing to accuse each other of undermining prospects for peace.
