BCCI announces the Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 squad

BCCI’s selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar announced the Indian team today for the upcoming Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025. During the selection Captain Surya Kumar Yadav was present there with the selection committee.

India’s Test Captain Shubhman Gill who had not played the 3 bilateral T20 series against Bangladesh, South Africa, and England capped as the Vice-Captain for the upcoming tournament.

He was added to the T20 team after a stellar performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Test series, where captaining the team drew 2-2 against England. Gill scored a record 754 runs with a stunning average of 75.

However Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyash Iyer are being ignored by the selectors. Jaiswal is there in the standby list.

The tournament is scheduled from 9-28 September in UAE. Team India will play their first match against UAE on 10 September at Dubai.
