IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Across Northeast, Eastern and Southern States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Uttarakhand on Tuesday.

Parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, and the north-eastern states are also likely to witness heavy rainfall during the next 2-3 days.

The weather department further predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning today in parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, and Ladakh.

IMD mentioned that strong surface winds are expected to prevail over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana today.
