The Election Commission of India (ECI) has strongly refuted allegations made by opposition parties regarding the ongoing State-wide Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, calling slogans like “Vote Chori” (vote theft) factually incorrect.

The protest erupted during the Monsoon Session of Parliament on Monday, with several Opposition MPs staging demonstrations against the ECI’s handling of electoral rolls and shouting slogans alleging manipulation.

In response, the ECI issued a detailed fact-check, stating that “Pure electoral rolls strengthen democracy” and that the SIR in Bihar is being conducted with the highest degree of transparency.

The Commission provided several official links and field-level documentation to support its claims, asserting that all political parties were fully involved in the SIR process at every stage.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) detailed its transparent approach to the State-wide Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, highlighting comprehensive stakeholder involvement.
