Prime Minister extends greetings on World Sanskrit Day, and Raksha Bandhan

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi today conveyed his greetings to the nation on the occasion of World Sanskrit Day and observed on Shravan Poornima and Raksha Bandhan.Calling Sanskrit “a timeless source of knowledge and expression”, the Prime Minister underlined its enduring influence across diverse fields.

PM Modi appreciated the dedication of scholars, students, and enthusiasts across the world who continue to learn, teach, and popularise Sanskrit. He emphasised that over the past decade, the Government has undertaken a series of measures to strengthen Sanskrit learning and research, such as establishing Central Sanskrit Universities, opening Sanskrit Learning Centres, extending grants to Sanskrit scholars, and launching the Gyan Bharatam Mission for digitisation of manuscripts.

He greeted everyone on the special occasion of unity and bond, and wrote on X,
