Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. delivered a foreign policy address in New Delhi on Wednesday, hosted by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF).
The Philippine President underscored the centuries-old ties between the Philippines and India, emphasizing their strategic partnership and shared commitment to a free, open Indo-Pacific.
Marcos echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of both nations as “friends by choice, but partners by destiny,” advocating for global governance structures resilient to geopolitical shocks. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation in defense, security, and economic growth.
The address was part of Marcos’ state visit. Philippine President Marcos Jr. is in India from August 4th till August 8th.
