In a significant step to boost global development cooperation, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) launched the first tranche of four projects under the India-UN Global Capacity Building Initiative.

Announced on August 1, the initiative marks a new phase in India’s efforts to enhance collaboration with partner countries in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. The four inaugural projects target key sectors such as food security, healthcare, vocational training, and census preparedness.

At the launch event, Tanmay Lal, Secretary (West), MEA, highlighted that nearly 60 projects have already been completed in over 50 countries under the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, which was first established in 2017.
