U.S. President Donald Trump inaugurated a new 18-hole golf course at Trump International Golf Links in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire, during his five-day visit to Scotland.

Accompanied by his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., the former president cut the ceremonial ribbon and dedicated the course to his late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, who was born in Scotland.

The inauguration was attended by Scottish First Minister John Swinney and other dignitaries, and was followed by trade talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Set to host the 2025 Nexo Championship, the course has sparked environmental protests, with critics raising concerns about its impact on the fragile coastal ecosystem.

Despite the protest, Trump described the course as “A tribute to Scotland’s natural beauty and golfing legacy.”
