Angara Airlines Plane Crashes in Russia, 50 feared Dead

A passenger plane, the An-24 operated by Angara Airlines, has crashed in the Amur region on Thursday, Russian authorities confirmed. The aircraft was carrying approximately 50 people feared dead. The plane included around 43 passengers, among them five children  and six crew members.

The plane lost contact with air traffic controllers near the city of Tynda earlier, prompting an urgent search. According to IFAX, debris from the aircraft has been found in the eastern part of the Amur region, confirming the crash site.

Rescue teams are currently on site conducting operations. Further details on casualties and cause of the crash are awaited.
