Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 7,000 crore in Motihari, Bihar to boost infrastructure and economic growth in the region. The Prime Minister envisioned transforming Motihari into a major economic hub on par with Mumbai and emphasized balanced development across Bihar’s key cities like Gaya, Patna, and Santhal Pargana.
Addressing the public gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted Bihar’s rapid progress due to coordinated efforts between the Centre and state governments. He noted that during previous regimes, Bihar received only around ₹2 lakh crore in ten years, compared to nearly ₹9 lakh crore allocated since 2014 by his government. PM Modi said this increased funding has been effectively utilized for public welfare and infrastructure development across the state.
The Prime Minister criticized earlier governments for obstructing Bihar’s development and misusing funds intended for the poor. He recalled a time when fear and uncertainty prevailed, preventing people from improving their homes. PM Modi said only his administration has ensured the poor received proper housing and condemned previous leadership for neglecting Bihar’s basic needs.
Reiterating his vision that Bihar’s progress is crucial for India’s future, the Prime Minister focused on youth empowerment and employment generation. He urged young people to pursue self-employment opportunities, condemning politicians who exploit backward communities for political gains. PM Modi emphasized that his government prioritizes inclusive growth and job creation over land grabbing and nepotism.
PM Modi announced the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana, aimed at improving farmer income and productivity in 100 identified districts.
Under the new scheme, nearly 1.75 crore farmers across India, including a large number from Bihar, will receive targeted support. The Prime Minister assured comprehensive implementation to boost agricultural output and income, reinforcing the government’s commitment to Bihar’s economic transformation and sustainable development.
