DRI Seizes Cocaine Worth ₹62.6 Crore, One Female Passenger Arrested at Mumbai International Airport

Acting on specific intelligence, in a breakthrough, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai, intercepted a female Indian national arriving from Doha at the Mumbai International Airport.

Upon detailed examination of her baggage, officers recovered six Oreo boxes and three chocolate boxes, all of which contained capsules filled with a white powdery substance. A total of 300 capsules were retrieved. Field testing confirmed the substance to be Cocaine.

The recovered narcotics weighed 6261 grams, with an estimated value of approximately ₹62.6 crore in the illicit market. The contraband was seized under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and the said passenger was placed under arrest. Further investigation is underway.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence remains committed to curbing drug trafficking and protecting India’s national security by intercepting narcotics consignments and dismantling trafficking networks.
