The U.S. State Department has launched a new awareness campaign warning Americans, especially Iranian Americans, about the serious risks of traveling to Iran.

During a press briefing on Thursday, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce urged Americans, particularly those of Iranian descent, to avoid travel to Iran. She highlighted that the Iranian regime does not recognize dual citizenship and denies consular access to detained U.S. citizens.

Bruce also clarified that although recent bombings have ceased, it does not mean that traveling to Iran is safe. To reinforce this message, the State Department announced the launch of a dedicated website, travel.state.gov, aimed at informing Americans about the dangers of traveling to Iran.
