At the Nepal-China border in Rasuwa district, nine individuals stranded in various locations due to flooding from the Lhende stream have been rescued safely. However, 17 people remain missing, including 11 Nepalese and 6 Chinese nationals.

The swollen Lhende stream swept away the Miteripul bridge, a key connection point between Nepal and China in the region. Authorities have also reported damage to the Rasuwa-Gadhi Hydropower Dam.

Floods and landslides are a recurring threat across South Asia during the monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September. However, experts warn that the intensity and frequency of such disasters are increasing due to the impacts of climate change.
