Dozens of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims were injured on Saturday after multiple buses in a Pahalgam-bound convoy collided near the Chanderkote langar site in Ramban district.

SSP Ramban, Kulbir Singh told that the accident occurred when the driver of one of the buses lost control due to a brake failure, resulting in a chain collision involving five other buses in the convoy.

Many pilgrims sustained injuries in the incident. All the injured were immediately shifted to the District Hospital Ramban for medical treatment. Rescue teams from the police and health department responded swiftly to the scene, ensuring timely assistance.

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Ilyas Khan, visited the hospital to assess the condition of the injured and oversee the relief measures.

“We have arranged replacement buses for the yatris. Those who have been discharged from the hospital will also be accommodated and allowed to continue their journey,” the DC said.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
