The United States has strongly criticized Iran for suspending its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, speaking at a regular briefing, called the move unacceptable and urged Tehran to resume full cooperation with the UN agency without further delay.

The United Nations has also voiced concern over Iran’s decision. During a daily press briefing, a spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the development as “obviously concerning.”

Meanwhile, the UN nuclear watchdog stated it is aware of the reports but is still awaiting official communication from Iran regarding the suspension.

Iran officially suspended its cooperation with the United Nations nuclear watchdog on Wednesday.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian implemented a law passed by parliament last week that halts collaboration with the UN nuclear agency.
