A tragic fire broke out at the Sigachi Chemical Industry factory in Sangareddy district on Tuesday morning, claiming eight lives and seriously injuring 26 others. The explosion occurred between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m., causing the administration building to collapse and trapping several workers under debris. Rescue operations, supported by eight fire engines, are ongoing as teams battle the blaze and search for survivors.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in the factory fire and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh from the PM National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured. The

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also expressed profound shock over the tragedy.
CM Reddy has directed officials to provide the best possible medical care to the injured and is personally overseeing the ongoing rescue efforts at the site.
The blast resulted in six immediate deaths, while two others later succumbed to injuries during treatment. Approximately 150 workers were present during the shift, and efforts continue to determine if anyone remains trapped, particularly in the factory’s second block. Inspector General Satyanarayana is supervising rescue operations on the ground.
Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Labor Minister Vivek Venkataswamy visited the scene. Minister Venkataswamy assured that injured workers are receiving optimal medical treatment at nearby hospitals.
Former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) expressed deep condolences and urged the government to provide enhanced medical support and relief to the families affected by the disaster.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy also expressed grief over the accident and called for full cooperation between central agencies and the Telangana government to strengthen rescue and relief efforts amid the ongoing crisis.
